"On the Impressions in Sandstone Resembling those of Horses' Hoofs." In Philosophical Magazine, Third Series, Volume 10, Number 63, June 1837. pp. 474-5.
Babbage, Charles.

A fine copy, uncut and unopened. Original printed wrappers. Octavo. (Item ID: 7087)

This is an abstract of a paper which Babbage submitted to the Geological Society and which was read before the December 14, 1836 meeting of that Society. This paper represents Babbage's diverse interests, other than those connected with the construction of the analytical engine. In it, Babbage describes an investigation into the source of many impressions left in the channel of a stream and considered by the country people to have been made by horses' hoofs.
