The reproductions are approximately half the size of the original. Contains twenty-four illustrated panels for the letters of the alphabet (two panels with two letters), each letter drawn in calligraphy in various colors with pigmented inks, background drawings in lighter colors, including gilt; Asian-style rubber stamps in blue or purple, all reproduced on a single sheet of paper. A fine copy. Marbled boards in an accordion style binding, the front of which secures the folded sheet under a double paste-down, the top of which is a colophon; the rear board has the same two paste-downs, but in this case the folded sheet is not secure to the board, 2 9/16 x 2 3/8 inches. Nancy Trottier is a calligrapher, watercolor artist, and a maker of artist's books for almost thirty years. She earned a Master's degree in Art History from the University of Iowa and is actively involved in making all types of books and completing bookbinding projects.
