The first constitution of the Book Club of California. The board of directors was elected in December of 1912 and comprised of president Edward Robeson Taylor, vice-president W.R.K. Young, treasurer Alfred M. Bender, and secretary Will Sparks, as well as James D. Blake, Alfred Sutro, Isaac O. Upham, and Mrs. Laurens Maynard.
