Twenty-seven full-page diagrams (twenty-three in color) and seven half-page diagrams (three in color) illustrating paper-folding projects. Clean and bright within. A very good copy of a rare book on Froebel gift number seven (paper-folding). Publisher’s gray cloth flexible boards. A couple spots of staining to cloth. Gray-green patterned endpapers. Item #17280
This wonderfully illustrated book gives detailed instructions and diagrams for kindergarten students studying the Froebel gifts. The A.L. Educational Series focused on children’s creativity and the learning-through-play concept that was one of the central tenets of Froebel’s educational method. Other titles in the series included Guide to the Drawing Examinations (1892) by D.E. Hillier and Paper-Flower Making (1897) by I.A. Williamson.
We could not locate any information on Z. Ford in the sources available to us. This appears to be Ford’s only published book. Subject Index of the Modern Works Added to the British Museum Library (1902).
