The first edition (L’Éducation sentimentale) was published in 1869. Illustrated with seventeen original designs after S. Górski. Title-pages printed in black and red. Additional engraved title-pages in both volumes. Headpieces and initial letters printed in red. Cloth slightly toned, trivial soiling and a few bumps to boards. Leaves slightly browned, slight offsetting to front endpapers from publisher’s slip in Vol. I. Minor dampstain to upper margin of a few gatherings in Vol. I and one plate, not intruding into text or image. A very good, uncut copy.
