Annabella Plumtre or Plumptre (1769-1838) was the daughter of Robert Plumptre (1723–1788),an English churchman and academic and President of Queens' College, Cambridge from 1760. Her sister was the writer and translator, Anne Plumptre (1760-1818), and her brother was the playwright James Plumptre (1771-1821). Domestic Management first appeared in 1810.

Cagle notes the present edition. Axford, Bitting, Oxford and Vicaire all list the first edition. OCLC also lists an 1812 edition. All are known in only a few copies. Oxford and Bitting erroneously refer to the author as Arabella rather than Annabella Plumtre. Some catalogs list her as "Bell" Plumtre.
