Anton-Filippo Adami was a poet and miscellaneous writer. His topics ranged from agriculture to literary history and criticism. He made a well known translation of Alexander Pope's Essay on Man. The present book contains sonnets, songs, poetic letters, translations, etc. Of special note is a thirty-two page dissertation on dramatic poetry and music in the theatre.
