This book reproduces 444 original book marks used by various American book dealers, with a short preface by the compiler, and an essay by Michael Q. Adams on “Booksellers’ Marks: A ‘Tiny’ Aspect of Bookselling History.’ Each copy had tipped in several original specimens. This copy has the original labels of Gelber Lilienthal in San Francisco, Paul Elder’s Books in San Francisco, and Dinkytown Books in Minneapolis. The Dinkytown label seems to be in all copies.
