Gerard Nordmann (1930-1992) of Geneva amassed one of the greatest collections of erotica in history, a library of nearly 2000 books, manuscripts, letters, documents, and curiosa noted for its emphasis on items of very small limitation and much unique material, including Sade’s autograph manuscript for 120 Journées de Sodome, the autograph manuscript of Reage/Aury/Desclos’ Histoire d’O, the only extant copy of the first edition of Aretino’s Sonnetti lusssuriosi, and the first edition of La Popelinière’s Tableaux des Moeurs du Temps...(1750). The 137 entries here represent the rarest items in Nordmann’s collection.
