San Francisco: David Magee, 1941. One of only twenty-seven special copies, out of a total edition of seventy-five copies, printed by the Grabhorn Press. Each of the seventy-five copies contained an original leaf, but the leaves in the twenty-seven special copies contain large floral initials in full color (instead of just red and blue), heightened in gold. The special copies are also attested to ink on the colophon and signed by the publisher. One large and thirteen smaller initials by Valenti Angelo, hand-illuminated in various colors and heightened in gold. Printed in Deepdene Text on French handmade paper. Slight wear to board edges and corners. Very minor toning to edges of leaves, else a near fine copy. Red and tan linen, lettered in red on front cover. Folio. 15 1/4” x 10 3/4”. 17 pp. Item #13168
